Kress, Sear Earn Cross Country All-Conference Honors

Kress was voted A-10 Academic All-Conference, while Sear was named to the league’s All-Rookie team.

Kress was selected to the cross country Academic All-Conference team for the second straight season. A biology major, she led the Billikens at the A-10 Championships with a 28th-place finish. Earlier in the season, she was the runner-up at the Golden Eagle Invitational.

The Academic All-Conference team comprise six student-athletes who were selected based on their performance on the trails, as well as in the classroom. To be nominated, runners must have a GPA of 3.0 or better (on a 4.0 scale) for their entire academic career. The teams were selected through voting conducted by the league’s Sports Information Directors.

Sear earned All-Rookie team honors after finishing among the top seven freshmen at the A-10 Championships. She was the second Billiken finisher and was 35th overall at the A-10 meet.

Earlier in the cross country season, Sear placed fifth in the Golden Eagle Invitational and eighth at the EIU Open.
