Surrounded by the green of nature, more than one hundred athletes took part in the Central American Cross Country Championship, which took place on Friday in Chatun Park, in the municipality of Esquipulas, in Chiquimula.

The event was part of the activities of the 2021 Guatemala International Sports Festival, and was held in an exuberant one-kilometer circuit, which put the strength and endurance of each athlete to the test.

In the medal table, Guatemala stood out with 9 gold, 5 silver and 4 bronze medals, for a total of 18; Costa Rica was second with 1 gold, 4 silver and 5 bronzes (10 in total), while Nicaragua and Belize achieved a silver and a bronze, respectively.

Viviana Aroche excelled in the individual plane with a victory in the distance of 10 kilometers in 40:52 minutes; In the male branch, at the same distance, Alberto González, also from Guatemala, won, in 31:52 minutes.
