Nearby gymnasts sparkle as individual champs are delegated at state meet

THORNTON, Colo. — What a way of wrapping up the 2021 state vaulting meet.

After group champions were delegated on Thursday (5A, Broomfield) and Friday (4A , Elizabeth), Saturday at Thornton High School was about individual victors from across Colorado.

Lakewood helped feature the day with Isabella Gee winning the 5A bars contest with a score of 9.8 and Lauren Burt bringing home the 5A pillar title with a score of 9.65

“It seems like a fantasy, genuinely. I was simply so glad to be up there (on the platform). I’ve been having a good time. It’s simply so amusing to be here with my group,” Gee said.

Legacy’s Kate Bryant likewise sparkled, acquiring two 5A individual state titles on the vault (9.9) and floor work out (9.775).

“I was glad for myself, yet additionally pleased with individuals close to me (on the platform) since we as a whole worked really hard to arrive. My greatest objective was to have a good time and not be in my mind excessively. I figure we did very great,” Bryant said.

in 4A, Green Mountain’s Gianna Martyna caught the vault title with a score of 9.925 and Niwot’s Mia Curry brought home the pillar title with a 9.55.

“It’s great to realize that I arrived, however I wouldn’t be here without my partners. They make all that great to be here,” Martyna said.
