Tokyo begins to receive the first athletes who arrive from Argentina, Ghana or Australia to play the Olympic Games.
Los first athletes are already in Tokyo ahead of the Olympics . There are three weeks left until the competitions begin and the city’s airports receive flights arriving with members of the Olympic delegations from various countries such as Argentina, Ghana and Australia.
All athletes must take two tests during the four days prior to their departure, and a third test as soon as they arrive . The arrival of the athletes coincides with the possible change in the conditions provided in the facilities for the spectators.
The increase in coronavirus cases in Tokyo, since the emergency measures were lifted on June 21, have led the authorities and the Organizing Committee to once again consider the possibility of the Games being held behind closed doors and not with a maximum capacity of 10,000 fans as approved a few weeks ago. The final decision will be made in the coming days depending on how the pandemic progresses.
