7 killed in shootings in US

At least six people have been killed and nine others injured in a series of shootings in California. The shootings took place early Sunday morning, local time in the California capital, Sacramento, according to AFP, citing local police.

The report said a restaurant and bar loaded with people were suddenly shot at with an automatic rifle. At the sound of gunfire, those present fled into the street.

Sacramento police said in a statement on Twitter that authorities had rescued at least 15 people who had been shot. Six of them were killed, the statement said.

Police also urged the people to move forward in the area.
