The three expelled and exempted leaders from the party are handing out leaflets to make the 26th November town hall ground rally of BNP successful in Comilla. They are former mayor of Comilla City Corporation, former joint general secretary of BNP South District Monirul Haque (Sakku), expelled convener of Comilla Mahanagar BNP Amiruzzaman and expelled president of Comilla Mahanagar Swachsevak Dal Mohammad Nizam Uddin (Kaiser). The leaders and workers of BNP and allied organizations are seen with them while distributing leaflets.
According to party sources, on the night of May 30 this year, the 44-member Convening Committee of Comilla Metropolitan BNP was approved by the Centre. Former president of Comilla South District Youth Dal Amiruzzaman was convener and general secretary of Comilla Mahanagar Youth Dal Yusuf Mollah (Tipu) was appointed member secretary. Utwatul Bari alias Abu, president of Mahanagar Jubodal, was made joint convener number 14 in the committee. Angered by this, Amiruzzaman held a press conference at Badurtala area of the city at 11 pm that day and said that his heart was bleeding in this committee.
A week after the announcement of the committee, Amiruzzaman, the convenor of the Metropolitan BNP, has been dismissed from all positions including the primary member of the organization, on the charge of involvement in party indiscipline activities on June 7 this year. Still, Amiruzzaman is participating in BNP’s party activities in the district and metropolis. On Wednesday afternoon, he addressed the public in Kandirpar area of Comilla Nagar. At that time Comilla Metropolitan BNP Joint Convener Ataur Rahman, Member Neshar Ahmed, Mahanagar Jubodal Organizing Secretary Khalilur Rahman were present with him.
When asked, Amiruzzaman said, ‘I am doing BNP politics as Chhatra Dal, Juba Dal. Although the party dismissed me, I did not withdraw from the activities and programs of the party. I am in all activities of the party. Working to make the rally a success. The team will bring me back.’
