Jahangirnagar University is 53rd after 52nd

After 52 years of establishment, Jahangirnagar University, one of the most prestigious higher education institutions in Bangladesh, is entering its 53rd year. This university started its journey on January 12, 1971 with only four departments and 150 students. Since the year 2000, the university authorities have been celebrating this anniversary day as ‘Jahangirnagar University Day’ every year through various arrangements.

Today, Thursday (January 12), the teachers, students and officials of the university celebrated the day with colorful arrangements. On this occasion, the whole campus was decorated with colorful decorations.

University Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Hoisted the National Flag and University Flag at 10:00 a.m. in the premises of the Faculty of Business Studies and launched the balloon. Md. Nurul Alam. Later, under the leadership of the Vice-Chancellor, a colorful procession with the participation of the university’s teachers, students and officers-staff ended with Salim Aldeen going to the Muktamanch.

At that time, Vice-Vice-Chancellor (Administration) Prof. Sheikh Md. was present there. Manjurul Haque, Contractual Registrar Rahima Kaniz, Proctor A.M. Feroz Ul Hasan along with Deans, Syndicate and Senate members of various faculties and former and present teachers-students of the University.

Other activities of the day-long University Day included Job Fair and Blood Grouping organized by Student-Teacher Center at 11 am. Plantation program in the area adjacent to the physical education office at 11:30 am. After noon, cultural program organized by Student Welfare and Counseling Center at Salim Al-Din Muktmanch. At 3:30 pm there was a friendly football match between former and current students at the central playground, at 5:30 pm there was a cultural program organized by Student-Teacher Center at Salim Al-Din Muktamanch and at 7:00 pm there was a solo concert by folk artist Shafi Mandal.
