Police officer closed with controversial post on tip-off

Sylhet district police court inspector Liaquat Ali has posted a controversial post on Facebook amid tensions across the country over the tip-off. The Superintendent of Police (SP) closed him in the incident. A three-member committee has also been formed to look into the matter.

Additional Superintendent of Police (Media) Lutfur Rahman confirmed the information.

He said SP Farid Uddin was in Jaintapur all day today investigating another incident. At night, knowing the status, he ordered Liaquat to close. He also formed a committee to investigate. The committee has been asked to submit its report within 3 working days.

Inspector Liaquat wrote on his Facebook account, Topic: Harassing women with a tip. Nonsense Thoughts: (18+) Many men are protesting by putting a tip on their foreheads in protest of harassing a woman with a tip. But I’m worried about the future. Many of the women in different cities walk around in open clothes, many of whom have about half of their bra uncovered. The other half is also visible due to the thin fabric. Now if a man is harassing a woman for wearing a bra in this way, will the protesting men who have a tip on their foreheads still wear a bra in the same way today?

His post has caused a stir in Sylhet. Seeing the situation strange, the police officer deleted the post from his Facebook ID.

Later, accused Liaquat Ali said, “I talked about the type of protest.” Why would a man protest after a tip on his forehead? I have posted that I could not accept this issue.
