The Central American records were achieved by Viviana Aroche in the 5,000 meters at the end of the test with a time of 17: 23.11. The other new mark was achieved by María Fernanda Peinado in the 10,000 meter march with 47: 01.20.
The competition also highlighted the new national record in the 200 meter dash set by Mariandré Chacón, who finished in second place with the mark of 24:47, leaving behind Christa Schumann’s time of 24:50 who was 35 years old.
The national delegation returned on Monday afternoon and was greeted by family and friends, who applauded the results at the tournament. The next challenge will be the Central American and Caribbean Athletics Championships (NACAC), which will be in Costa Rica from July 9 to 11.
