Schindler Named a CoSIDA Academic All-American

Holy person John’s University rising senior Shawn Schindler (Maple Grove, Minn.) was named to the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-America crosscountry/olympic style events first group on Tuesday, Aug. 10.

Candidates should be of a sophomore scholastic standing or better, with a 3.30 GPA or higher. The Academic All-District and All-America groups are casted a ballot upon and chosen by enlisted individuals from CoSIDA.

A nursing major with a 3.98 GPA, Schindler set SJU’s open air standard in the shaft vault (4.90 meters) as he acquired All-America praises with a fourth-place finish at the 2021 NCAA Division III Outdoor Championships in May.

He is a double cross U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-Central Region honoree in the post vault, in both the indoor and outside seasons, and a double cross open air All-MIAC (top three independently) understudy competitor. Schindler gathered his second Academic All-MIAC differentiation last month.

SJU completed second at the MIAC Outdoor Championships and twelfth at the NCAA Outdoor Championships, on account of All-America exhibitions in five occasions.
