Wasim Bhai Hall of Fame, Anandit Afridi

He is regarded as the best left-arm fast bowler of all time. Won the World Cup for the country. Not only did he win, he made a big contribution to world victory. Test or ODI statistics actually speak for him. He has led the country for a long time.

Wasim Akram’s contribution to Pakistan cricket is indescribable. He was recently inducted into the Pakistan Cricket Board’s (PCB) Hall of Fame. He took 414 wickets in Test cricket (104 Tests) and 502 wickets in ODIs (358 ODIs). He scored 2698 runs in Tests and 3617 runs in ODIs. Such a cricketer must have taken his place in the Hall of Fame. He also received a commemorative letter from Sir Viv Richards, another great figure in world cricket. The Caribbean star is with a team in PSL at the moment.

Shahid Afridi is very happy that Wasim Akram got a place in the PCB’s ‘Hall of Fame’. On the one hand, what Akram means by Afridi’s ‘guru’ is that. Afridi made his captaincy debut in 1996 in Nairobi, Kenya (although Afridi played his debut match under the captaincy of Saeed Anwar. Akram returned from Nairobi before the match due to his father’s illness). In fact, Akram came up holding his hand. So the achievement of the Guru will make him happy and proud. A large part of his career was spent under Akram’s captaincy. Akram led the field in 56 ODIs and 5 Tests. Afridi himself admits that most of his international achievements, successes are under Akram.

Afridi congratulated Akram on being named in the PCB’s Hall of Fame, tweeting, “This is a great recognition for a great legend. Wasim Akram is one of my role models. The game under him was honorable. Wasim Bhai has contributed to most of the success of my cricket career. The Pakistan Cricket Board has done a great job acknowledging the contribution of one of the best cricketers of all time.

So far, Fazal Mahmood, Hanif Mohammad, Zaheer Abbas, Imran Khan, Javed Miandad and Abdul Qadir have been inducted into the Pakistan Cricket Board’s Hall of Fame. He was inducted into the PCB Hall of Fame for his outstanding contribution to Pakistan cricket and international cricket. This recognition is given considering the success, fame and statistics of those cricketers.
